About me

My Journey !

From an early age, I dreamed of a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives—especially in the area of mental health.

Volunteering with the mental health charity MIND, as well as with a local bereavement organisation, helped me take my first proactive steps into this field. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of others’ challenges but also helped me begin to unpack and make sense of my own struggles with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. This marked a turning point in my life—shifting my mindset positively and fuelling a desire to help others do the same.

Professionally, I spent several years working in the NHS. I started as a Patient Clerk at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, and later became a Ward Clerk on the Rodney Porter Ward at St. Mary’s Hospital. This ward was one of the first inpatient care centres in the UK dedicated to individuals affected by HIV and AIDS. We took pride in offering compassionate care at a time when understanding and treatment were still emerging. I’m proud to say the ward eventually closed in the early 2000s due to advances in HIV treatment that dramatically reduced the need for end-of-life care.

I’m also a proud mother of three grown-up children and have worked with young people in care, particularly refugees fleeing persecution in their home countries. These experiences opened my eyes to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of trauma-informed care.

Driven by my passion, I trained and qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse (RN). However, in 2017, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which presented both physical and emotional challenges. After many years of dedicated service, I made the difficult decision to retire from nursing and the NHS in the summer of 2023. That pause, however, opened a new door.

In retirement, I finally had the space and time to revisit a long-held ambition: to study hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. During my research, I discovered the renowned Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) school. I enrolled—and never looked back.

Through my training in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, I found not only a new professional purpose but a method that truly works. As I began working with clients, I witnessed first-hand how focused, positive approaches could empower individuals to grow and heal—session by session.

When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy travelling, especially anywhere with sunshine or sea—which I find both calming and restorative. I adore the countryside and love exploring nature. I’m an avid reader, and I treasure quality time with family and friends. My hobbies also include mindful walking, swimming, cooking, baking, and meditation.
